Domain will be claimed for free later. So, compare both the plans given below and start with anyone according to your choice. I would recommend you to go with WordPress managed Hosting Plan which we are using on our website.

As you can see i have searched for ‘okravi.com’ and it is available for free claiming.

Creating an account on GoDaddy

Now it’s time to be a GoDaddy user. For that, you have to create an account on GoDaddy. Just click on “create account button” and follow the steps provided.

Follow these simple steps –

creating an account on GoDaddy fro website creation
Creating an account with GoDaddy
  1. Enter the email you have created. if you want to use your old email, go for that.
  2. Choose a username. I will suggest you to use your email as a username itself. You can use other useranme also.
  3. Set a password for your account
  4. Enter Support PIN – It can be any 4 digit number
  5. Click on Create Account button to complete the process

Fill up the billing details

Once you done with the account creation, the next step will be billing information filling. Fill the right information there.

You have to fill these details in GoDaddy billing –

entering Billing Information on Godaddy
Filing the billing info on GoDaddy
  1. First Name
  2. Last Name
  3. Phone no with country code
  4. Complete Address
  5. City
  6. State
  7. Company you are working in (optional) – Fill “Okey Ravi WEB Services”, if you want to fill.
  8. GST (Optional) -Specific to Inida

Once filled, click on “Save Button” to go to the payment step.

Select a payment medium and complete the payment

After filling and saving the billing details the next step is to choose a suitable payment medium. Indians mostly preferred a debit card, Net banking or wallet system like Paytm or UPI. But, if you have a credit card then you can use that also.

Payment options available on GoDaddy - Paytm, also available

The one think I like about GoDaddy is they provide all payment mediums. Most of the hosting and domain providers like BlueHost, InterServer, Namecheap and HostGator they don’t have all payment mediums available.

Once a payment medium is decided then click on “Complete Purchase” button to fill up the payment details and OTP verification. After the payment completion you will get a receipt on your registered mail.

Verify your registered email

After the purchase of domain and hosting, you will get a mail to verify your GoDaddy account. So, just verify your GoDaddy account. Now the next process is WordPress installation on your purchased domain.

Without WordPress Installation the website creation process will GoDaddy will remain untouched.

Installing WordPress on purchased domain

The next most important step to create a WordPress Website with GoDaddy is WordPress installation. I will describe it in two steps. One for WordPress Hosting without cPanel and other will be for Web Hosting with cPanel‘.

Let’s see them one by one.

WordPress installation on WordPress hosting

If you have purchased a ‘Basic Managed WordPress Hosting’ then WordPress installation is bit easier. Follow the steps –

  1. Go to ‘My Products’
  2. Navigate to the hosting you have purchased
  3. Click on Setup/Manage
  4. Choose a WordPress username and password
  5. Choose a datacenter, go with the recommended option
  6. Wait for the completion of process

Once completed you can access your WP dashboard at http://domainname.com/wp-admin or http://domainname.com/login.

Use your WP username and password to login. If you get a Setup Wizard in between then you can either complete it or skip it for later. Every details will be changed later using WP admin section.

I hope you have logged in to your WordPress now. So, now the question is what do you do next? Here is something for you which you can perform now.

  1. Have a look at Gutenberg Editor and it’s features
  2. You can change your theme. If you want to install a premium theme then this is the right time to do it.
  3. Install WordPress recommended plugins according to your requirements
  4. Start customizing your website
  5. Write your first post and learn SEO
  6. Optimize your website for SEO

WordPress installation on Web hosting

All the steps mentioned above is also applicable in web hosting. But, the only thing it differs from above is, here WordPress installation can be performed using cPanel. I have made a separate post on this. You can follow either of the methods.

What more you need to know?

See, I usually recommend WordPress managed hosting if you want to create a WordPress website with GoDaddy. There is a lot of benefits of using this hosting. The main benefit is the free access of GoDaddy Pro Dashboard. With the help of GoDaddy Pro Dashboard which is the same as ManageWP, you can do a lot of things. I have made a list of them. Have a look –

  1. You can take daily backup, weekly or scheduled backup
  2. Restore backup anytime
  3. The last 2 month backup will be stored. So, two months rollback is possible, which is amazing.
  4. You can monitor your website SEO and keywords ranking
  5. Monitor your website uptime
  6. Easily optimize your post revisions and spam comments
  7. Safe update WordPress themes and plugins is available
  8. You can monitor your website traffic using Google Analytics linking

I hope now you have created your website using GoDaddy. Hosting choice is totally up to you. But, my recommendation for you will be GoDaddy managed WordPress plan. You can take Linux hosting also if you want to create a WordPress or any other kind of website.

The one thing I have skipped is SSL installation which you can do later. SSL installation is not required at the time of website creation. This can be done later. But make sure you install an SSL before submitting your site to Google or other webmasters.

Googlebot Optimization for Better SEO | Think beyond SEO

Howdy readers, Have you heard about Googlebot optimization? You know very well about search engine optimization, either it is on-page SEO, off-page SEO or Image SEO. We have also talked about WordPress website clean-up and optimization for better SEO practices. So, it will be better to see how can you optimize your Googlebot?

Googlebot optimization is not the same as WordPress optimization or Search Engine Optimization. It is quite different. Here the main focus is how Google’s crawler accesses your site? You know a site’s crawlability is the important first step to ensuring its searchability.

Here we will focus on all the best practices which are important for crawlability. So, let’s start this discussion with what is a Googlebot?

What is a Googlebot?

Googlebot is a Google search engine bot which crawls a website and helps in indexing a web link. It is also called crawler or web spider. A Googlebot can crawl only those links which they have given the access through a robots.txt file. Once it’s crawl any link it requests indexing and then that post will be given back everytime on a particular search query.

Type of Googlebot –

  1. Googlebot-Mobile
  2. Mediapartners-google
  3. Googlebot-Image
  4. Googlebot-Video
  5. Adsbot-Google
  6. Googlebot-News
  7. Google-Mobile-Apps

I have mentioned more about their working and special purpose in a separate article. i have also mentioned how googlebot access a site? Have a look –

Read RecommendedWhat is a Googlebot? Googlebot SEO benefits, working principle & types

Googlebot optimization basic principles

The whole idea of how Googlebot crawls and index your site is crucial to understand the Googlebot optimization. Here we will see some basic principles which will help you to understand Googlebot working principles.

  1. Googlebot crawl budget for your site – The amount of time that Googlebot gives to crawl your site is called “crawl budget.” The greater a page’s authority, the more crawl budget it receives. So, sites having high domain authority and page authority will receive more crawl budget rather than a new site.
  2. Googlebot is always crawling your website – “Googlebot shouldn’t access your site more than once every few seconds on average .” Google says this in their Googlebot article. In other words, your site is always being crawled provided your site is accurately accepting Google web spiders. It’s important to note that every page on your site is not crawled by Googlebot all the time. Have you heard about consistent content marketing, this is the right time to punch into it – newly written, detailed, properly structured, and updated contents always gains the crawler’s attention, and improves the likelihood of top ranked pages.
  3. Robots.txt is accessed first by Googlebot to get crawling rules decided by you – Pages, posts, media, WordPress directories which are disallowed to access will not be accessed by Googlebot. If you don’t have a robot.txt file, create one and write your crawling rules there.
  4. Sitemap of your website is accessed by Googlebot to discover new contents, updated contents and other areas of your site to be indexed – You know when you create a WordPress website or any other website. Things and scenarios are different for all sites. There is a lot of variation in how a website is built. So, Googlebot may not crawl every page or section. It is sitemap of your site which will tell Google about your site data. Sitemaps are also beneficial for advising Google about the metadata behind categories like video, images, mobile, and news. You can easily create a sitemap using Yoast SEO and All In One SEO plugins. Once created submit your sitemap to Google Search console for proper indexing of links.

6 principles you should follow for Googlebot optimization

You should know Googlebot optimization comes to a step prior to the search engine optimization. It’s important that your site should accurately be crawled and indexed by Google. So, Let’s see what are those principles which you need to keep in mind.

1.Optimize your robots.txt file properly

Everytime when a Googlebot or other search engine bot comes to crawl your site. It goes to robots.txt file first. A robots.txt file tell them where to go and where not? So, robots.txt is essential for SEO. I have already discussed about crawl budget above. It’s something which is dependent on page rank of a site.

So, you should always optimize your robots.txt, this will give enough crawl budget to the right section of your website. I know you don’t want to spend this limited resource to scan bullshit pieces of stuff on your website.

2. Create fresh and original contents

It is crucial for Googlebot optimization that your low ranked pages should be crawled frequently. But, to crawl tat page you need to add some freshness into that content. You can update that content time to time. But keep in mind don’t change it drastically, it might ruin your pagerank also.

For example – Initially the content was “Googlebot optimization and it’s benefits for SEO”. Now you changed it to ” optimizing Googlebot for better SEO practices”. These type of changes are good. You can do it.

See what Moz says about freshness of contents and its impact on Google ranking.

In the similar fashion originality of content also matters for Google. Google does not give more importance to those contents which are copyrighted or staled. I would recommend you to go with unique and detailed content always.

3. Internal linking can’t be ignored

Whenever I have talked about On-page SEO, I have always urged people to interlink the relevant articles. for example, you can see this article, I have interlinked my SEO, backlinks and previous Googlebot articles along with some other articles.

The more tight-knit and integrated your internal linking structure will be, the better it will be crawled by Google. You can use Yoast SEO, which suggests the articles which can be interlinked by content analysis.

If you want to analyze your interlinking structure then you should visit
Google Search Console Links → Internal Links. If you found the pages at the top of the list are strong content pages that you want to be returned in the SERPs, then you’re doing well.

4. Create a Sitemap for your website

I have focused more about the creation and importance of sitemap for a website in a separate article. Follow these article –

  1. How to create a sitemap for a non-WordPress website?
  2. How to create and submit a sitemap for a WordPress Website?

5. Don’t get too fancy

Googlebot doesn’t crawl JavaScript, DHTML Frames, Flash, and Ajax content. So, adding these type of content on your website is not advisable. If you use WordPress then you can minimize Javascript and CSS file using WP rocket plugin.

The above mentioned things will increase your page load time also, So, reduce them as much as possible.

You can reach out this google article on how Google find your pages and how they understand your pages?

It is possible that in future google will start crawling flash, Javascript and other fancy elements discussed above. But for now it is a contradictory subject. See what Matt Cutts from searchengineland thinks about it. He has taken a better approcah towrds this.

6. Infinite scrolling pages optimization

I have seen some bloggers use infinite scrolling pages on their site. So, for better Googlebot optimization, you need to ensure that your infinite scrolling pages comply with the stipulations provided by Google and also explained in Neil Patel article.

How to analyze Googlebot’s performance on your site?

Analyzing Googlebot performance is a crucial step in Googlebot optimization and it is quite simple to understand with the help of Google Webmaster tool.

The data provided by Google webmaster is limited but it will help you to find any serious error or major crawl issues on your blog.

Let’s see what you have to keep in mind when you look at the Googlebot performance in webmaster. Login to Google Search Console and Navigate to Coverage.

Resolve the crawl errors

Checking and fixing the crawl error is the first step if Googlebot optimization. In coverage, you can check, is there crawl error you have or not? if not, It’s awesome. But if you have some crawl error then you need to fix them immediately.

Checking the crawl error for Googlebot optimization in Search Console
Indexing report with error details

As you can see on my website there are 9 coverage errors. There is a single crawl issue in that. Here is the list of errors –

  1. Submitted URL seems to be a Soft 404
  2. URL submitted marked ‘noindex’
  3. Submitted URL has crawl issue

Crawl Errors

Keep an eye on your crawl stats

Google tells you about pages crawled per day, kilobytes downloaded per day and Time spent downloading a page (in milliseconds). A proactive content marketing campaign that regularly pushes fresh content will provide positive upward momentum for these stats

Crawl Stats Monitoring in search console

Take help from “fetch as Google” feature

The “Fetch as Google” feature allows you to look at your site or individual web pages the way that Google would. You can fetch as Google tab to fetch any page having crawl errors and then once completed, you can request indexing to the Google. It is applicable in other errors also like soft 404, clickable elements too close together, content out of page and more.

Check status of blocked URL’s

If you want to check any URL is blocked by Googlebot or not then you can use the robots.txt tester. You can check it with different Googlebots.

If a legitimate link is blocked then you should make changes accordingly in your robots.txt file to solve that error.

Keep your sitemap updated

You should check your sitemap status time to time to analyze how many links are discovered? how many images are discovered? and how many of them have been indexed yet?

URL parameters configuration

If you want to know how a URL parameter configuration work then you should visit this Google article. Mostly it is applicable when you have duplicate contents on your site.

Navigate to URL Parameter sin Search console crawl report and see if you are getting this “Currently Googlebot isn’t experiencing problems with coverage of your site, so you don’t need to configure URL parameters. (Incorrectly configuring parameters can result in pages from your site being dropped from our index, so we don’t recommend you use this tool unless necessary.) “ then well and good. You don’t need to configure your URL parameter

Conclusion on Googlebot optimization

We all strive for a decent traffic. In accordance to that we do proper SEO, we write detailed content and that works for us. But not at a extent it should. So, Googlebot optimization is key. Most of the webmaster forget to optimize their Googlebot performance and they are losing a lot of traffic due to this.

So, you don’t need to do this mistake. Optimize your Googlebot performance and see how it works for you?

While Googlebot crawls your website those unwanted tags also get indexed on google. So, it is always better to remove all those unused tags. This will help you to save some database size and indexing of original links.

You can also use the robots.txt file to block them.

9. Check your WP database for leftover files

Check your database for leftover files. Often we ignore the leftover filers which affect your website SEO. So, do check for leftover files.

13. Compress and Optimize CSS

If your website contains a lot of CSS files I will recommend you to compress all those CSS files. It will help your website to load faster. You can use WP Rocket plugin for this purpose. The next way to get rid of heavy CSS files are “the use of non-heavy WordPress premium themes”.

14. Compress and optimize your JavaScript files

If your website has a lot of JavaScript files then do compress it also. It will help your site to load faster and you know loading time matters a lot for any website. You can use WP Rocket plugin to optimize and minify Javascript, CSS and html files.

As I have seen in most of the cases, the website loading time is increased due to heavy CSS files, JavaScript files and non-optimized images.

Loading speed is an SEO factor as we all know. So, you should not ignore these things.

Minify css, javascript and image optimization

15. Take weekly backup at least

Taking schedule backup of a website is very important. This will help you to recover your website at any point of time. At “okeyravi.com” we take daily backup using GoDaddy Pro dashboard. FAQ based on FrozenFry Services

1. Can I share the tools I have bought to others like my friend and family member?

Actually, frozenFry does not allow the sharing of tools. If they found they will ban your account. But, you can share the entertainment credentials provided by them to your family and friend like Amazon Prime and Netflix. You can also share Canva Premium. But make sure that you don’t do it on a large scale. I have shared with 3-4 persons and it was working fine. I have not tried other tools sharing.

2. Services are not working properly, can I ask them for a refund?

Yes , ofcourse. They have their refund policy. Make sure to read them before buying.

3.Is there any limitation in the accounts which we purchase?

Yes, there are limitations to some of the SEO tools. They block bulk features such as APIs, OpenApps etc. in some of the SEO tools too in order to prevent abuse. All these accounts are shared group buy accounts and are meant mainly for light to medium usage. So, they would not allow any single customer to abuse the account resulting problems for the rest of the customers. For normal users, these accounts work perfectly fine.

Do proper keyword research for your topic

First of all, let’s know what is a keyword? A keyword is the search terms that people type on google search bar for their query. Like valuable inventory scraped content fix”

There is so many keyword research tool available for you to do this. You will get both paid and free. First, let’s talk about paid tools available on the market. Tools like Semrush, Aherfs, Moz etc are the paid tool you can choose. Among those Ahrefs is the most popular one among the bloggers.

You can also use free tools like Google AdWords, Keyword Shitter, and many more. If you are interested then you can google them to know more about free tools. And among the free tools, the Google Adwords (keyword planner) is most popular. You must try this out it is very useful and provide a lot of data for free. Actually, this keyword planner is not created for the content writing. It is for the advertiser that publish ads on google.

But no doubt it is useful for bloggers too. So, now you get to know that proper keyword research is important to optimize a WordPress website for SEO.

Write detailed articles

Every time you search something on Google you want the best results and Google also wants to provide the best result to its user. So, you have to understand that to work accordingly. Google always ranked that article which has maximum word count which has useful information in their article.

So, if you are also interested to get ranked in the google search then write long article include useful facts. highlight the facts by bold letter. Do not bold those unnecessary things in your article, only for the sake of SEO that’s not gonna work for long. Do the genuine work, Put your best effort and that’s enough. You will break the SEO rock.

So, now you might be thinking what is the limit of word count? You can make it around one thousand words. You just focus on giving the full detailed information on the particular topic. It will automatically cross 1000 words. But yet, sometimes it is not possible to write long articles, reasons can be different with each individual. In that case, go with the content you have written. You don’t need to make that long.

Don’t make your article long by putting useless shits. It’s not going to work. One the user will enter your website and if they do not find the right information then get ready to increase your bounce rate, which is not good for SEO and search rank will also decrease.

How to bulk delete unused tags from a WordPress website?

Bulk delete unused tags from WordPress – You know guys, deleting unused tags from WordPress website will be hectic sometimes if you don’t do it on time. But, who is taking tension of this? Do you? I don’t. We have some set of plugins which can perform this tag deletion action in a while. In this article, we will discuss both the manual and plugin deletion of unused tags on a WordPress website.

While writing a blog post and even when we perform SEO on our website, we create a lot of tags. Some of them left unused and this number will grow day by day. If you don’t delete them.

You know in the last post I have discussed how have I deleted 14k subscribers from my website? Most of them were spam subscribers. But, as a bit of luck, I don’t have any spam tags or tags created by those spam users.

So, why am I worried about unused tags? Yes, because they are very high in number. I have deleted almost 100’s of posts from my website in last 1 and half year but the tags I have created is still there. Not only these tags, while writing posts I have created a lot of tags and later I deleted them from the post edit page finding they are irrelevant to the content later. But those tags are still active in the tags directory.

How a tag becomes unused?

There might a lot of reasons for this. I am mentioning the reason which has I known and observed. If you found something else you can comment about that.

  1. Deleted posts and pages left tags behind
  2. Tags created and deleted from the post edit page, Not from the tag directory or database
  3. You type some tags and you pressed enter, means tags saved in tags directory but in the meantime you realized some spelling mistakes and deleted that tag from there. But it is still in the tags directory.

So, deleting these unused tags are very much important with respect to website SEO.

How to bulk delete unused tags from your website?

Mass deletion of unused tags can be performed either manually or by using some plugins. let’ see the manual process first.

Method 1 – Manual deletion of unused tags

Follow the steps provided below to delete a tag manually from tag directory.

Note: You might need to redirect an unused tag to some other URL after deletion. But, performing redirection in bulk is also not suggestable. So, better you deleted it. but it completely your choice. I have redirected some of my important tags to my main URL or the post URL because I have also submitted tags in the Google Search Console.

Here we go with the steps –

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
  2. Navigate to Posts->Tags
  3. Now see the count of tags. if the count is zero then that tag is not used anywhere on your website.
  4. Select tags having zero count
  5. Choose delete option in Bulk Actions
  6. Click Apply to delete them
  7. You can perform redirection according to your choice after then

Manual deletion of unused tags

Deleted tag redirection is good for SEO

You know you can choose not to redirect your tags to another content. But, a good SEO expert will never suggest you this. There will be some situations in which you have to perform redirections. So basically, if you have any relevant post then redirect the deleted tag to them or else just redirect them to your homepage.

redirecting a deleted tag to some other content
deleted tag redirection

If your website is new or in the case you have deleted the post. better option for you will be homepage redirection or leave it blank.

Note: It may increase 404 page not found issues for some time. If you get so, submit your tag in google search console again.

There is a step where people stuck. They have asked “Sir, I don’t have count option in my tag section, how do I get that?”

The answer is very simple. Just click on “Screen options” button. You can find it in the top right corner. Now check the count option and click save.

You are done here. Smile please 🙂 Say, cheese!

Method 2 – Deleting unused tag using a plugin

As you came to know manual deletion of tags is time-consuming and need some effort as well. Which I know you don’t want to give? So, You can perform this deletion process within minutes using some plugins. Let’s see how it goes?

Mass deletion of unused tags using plugin

There are very few numbers of plugins available for tags deletion. the plugin which I am going to use right now is ‘Mass delete unused tags’

I will not recommend this plugin now. it is not tested with current version of WordPress. But still, if you wanna use it then follow these steps properly.

  1. Create a complete backup of your website
  2. Now download and install the Mass delete plugin, you can download it from WordPress store as well.
  3. Select the ‘Yes, delete all unused terms’ option and hit the Delete Terms button.

Google uses these user agents to crawl any site and their contents. If you don’t want anything to be crawled then just disallow that in the robots.txt file.

We will talk about how can you give special instructions to these bots using robots.txt file later in this article?

Googlebot types and their special purpose

These are the several Google bots which are commonly used. Have a look at them and check your robots.txt to identify are you using them or not?

Googlebot – It crawls pages from Google web index and news index for desktop and smartphone both.

How Googlebot accesses your site?

For most sites, Googlebot shouldn’t access your site more than once every few seconds on average. Could you believe that? I don’t. But, yes it is real. However, due to network delays, It’s possible that the rate will be seen slightly higher than they say over a short interval.

Googlebot was designed to be distributed on several machines to improve performance and scale as the web grows. Also to cut down your bandwidth usage Googlebot crawl your site from the nearest crawlers available. Therefore, your logs may show visits from several machines at google.com, all with the user-agent Googlebot.

Google’s goal is to crawl as many pages from your site as they can on each visit without overwhelming your server’s bandwidth. You can also Request a change in the crawl rate.

How can you block Googlebot to access content on your site?

Googlebots only accesses and crawls those contents which you allow them to do. This allows and disallows matters should be written in the robots.txt file.

For Example – The sample code from a robots.txt file given below is just allowing all Googlebots to access all your content. It is not disallowing anything. This is not only allowing Googlebot it also allow Bingbot, Yandexbot, Ninjabot and other bots available on internet.

User-Agent: *

Whereas, If you see this sample robots.txt code from our website. You can clearly see the differences. Most of the Googlebots are used and they allowed to access all (Allow:/) contents. But some of the core files are disallowed including trackbacks, comments feed and affiliate links.

User-agent: *
Disallow: /cgi-bin/
Disallow: /wp-admin/
Disallow: /recommends/ (Affiliate links are disallowed)
Disallow: /comments/feed/
Disallow: /trackback/
Disallow: /index.php
Disallow: /xmlrpc.php

User-agent: NinjaBot
Allow: /

User-agent: Mediapartners-Google*
Allow: /

Allow: /wp-content/uploads (Only we are allowing some specific folders for image indexing)

User-agent: Adsbot-Google
Allow: /

User-agent: Googlebot-Mobile
Allow: /

Note: If you want to prevent Googlebot from crawling content on your site, just allow or disallow them in your robots.txt file. Be aware of the difference between preventing Googlebot from crawling a page, preventing Googlebot from indexing a page, and preventing a page from being accessible at all by both crawlers or users.

One thing you have to set up in your head if a page is inaccessible for crawl it is automatically inaccessible for indexing as well.

How to bulk delete WordPress user with specific roles?

Spam users especially spam subscribers are something which you don’t want to keep into your list. Today I am going to share how can you bulk delete WordPress user with specific roles in a click? You don’t need to do it manually.

Whenever a user joins your website then you have to provide them a unique role like Administrator, Subscriber, Editor, Author and more.

Sometimes you unknowingly use a feature that every blog comment should be done only by signed in user. So, whenever a bot comments on your website, they create a default profile. In my case, it was a subscriber.

There may be some other specific reasons for getting a high amount of subscribers on your website. I want to know what was that. Specify that in comment section.

Read AlsoWWW vs Non-WWW which is beneficial for SEO?

So, let’s see how I have deleted all those in bulk. I am going to tell you two methods for this.

Bulk delete WordPress user with a specific role manually

This process is time taking if you have a long list to delete. Yet, if you are a blogger you should know this. For deleting a WordPress user of a specific role, simply go to WordPress Admin Area – > Users.

You can find a list of subscribers with theirs specific role. If you see the image. you can easily observe that we have more than 13000 subscribers in which most of them are either spam or bots created.

User role in WordPress - deleting a specific user role in Bulk

If I start deleting it manually. In one go I can delete only 20 users. So for me it is a very cozy task. But not for a plugin.

If you want to increase the no of subscribers shown to you. You can opt Screen option, available in the top right corner.

Screen Options in WordPress - deleting a specific user role in bulk

So, If I have to delete all the subscriber here. I will choose 13795 and click on apply button. If I do so then all the subscribers will be listed. Once listed I can select them all.

Aah, this is not so simple also. The maximum no of user which can be displayed on a page is 999. So, I can not select more than that. It simply signifies we have to repeat the selection process 14 times to delete all the subscribers.

Let’s delete 999 subscribers just to see how this manual deletion works? Select all the subscribers on the Page. After selection, choose delete option in Bulk Actions and click on apply to delete.

delete subscriber in bulk from wordpress website

A confirmation page will be seen, You just need to click Confirm deletion button. You are done with the manual deletion here. This is how it goes.

Confirm subscriber deletion in WordPress - Specific user deletion in bulk

If you have less no of subscribers to delete then this process is helpful for you. But, as you can see in my case it is not a usual case. I have to delete all subscribers. So manual deletion of a specific role is not recommended.

I have decide to do this with the help of a plugin called Bulk Delete.

Bulk delete WordPress user with a specific role using Bulk Delete Plugin

Bulk delete is quite simple to use if you want to delete a user specific role However, sometimes you may need to select users based on other criteria as well.

Email Marketing – Soft Bounce vs Hard Bounce Management

Soft bounce vs Hard bounce is very important to email deliverability. If you do Email Marketing you should know this. Recently, I started Email Marketing. After looking at a lot of tools like MailChimp, SendGrid, Aweber, OptinMonster, SocketLabs. Finally, I have chosen ‘SendInBlue‘. Do you want to know why? I will tell you later in this article.

I have created a New Year 2019 Wish Campaign to my 1829 recipients. Then I came to know that, there is a term which we call soft bounce and hard bounce in Email Marketing.

Today I am going to discuss soft bounce and hard bounce Management in detail. So let’s start with the basics.

What is an Email Bounce?

An email bounce signifies that the sent mail is not delivered to the recipients. There can be many reasons for that, which I have discussed below. If a soft or a hard bounce occurs, then the sender will get a message about the mail deliverability. The message is just a delivery failure automatic notification.

You might have observed this in Gmail. Have a look at the screenshot given below.

mail delivery subsystem address not found - soft bounce vs hard bounce
Address not found in Gmail

How to fix bounced or rejected Emails?

This is just a temporary solution. People like you and me always do mistakes in writing and typing. Based on that I am giving you these solutions.

These are common mistakes which can be fixed –

  1. Quotation Marks
  2. A dot at the end or middle of Address
  3. Placing comma instead of a dot in recipient Gmail like this gamil, com
  4. Spaces before and after the address
  5. Spelling Errors

You can check with the recipient to correct the address. But, keep in mind if the above mistakes are not done then the address might be a wrong address or an email fake id.

Being a blogger I have seen bots creating and registration my website. The name, email and website created by a bot are fake. They are Garbage. To stop spam comments on your website you should use the Anti-spam plugin

Let’s see the topic soft bounce vs hard bounce.

Soft Bounce vs Hard Bounce in Email Marketing

Soft Bounce and Hard Bounce, these are the two email bounces which you can get which in your email campaign report. It is also referred as email block. It can be due to some firewall. Like you can’t send me a mail on my Company Email.

Soft Bounce

soft bounce signifies a valid email id and the message reached the recipient’s mail server. However, it bounced back because:

  1. The mailbox was full (the user is over their limited quota)
  2. The server was down
  3. The message was too large for the recipient’s inbox
  4. The message contains some sensitive information so the server denies it.

The Email Marketing Service like Sendinblue and Mailchimp tries again to send that message at a fixed interval like 72 hours. If it is still not delivered then it is either blocked or deferred. It is not added to the suppression list. But it actually depends on email provider you have chosen.

Soft Bounce vs hard bounce

Hard Bounce

A hard bounce signifies that the meassge has been permanently rejected by the server either because –

  1. The recipient address is invalid
  2. The recipient addresses don’t exist anymore

These emails will be added in the suppression list. A suppression list is a list of email which is excluded automatically from a campaign recipients list. The provider will not even try to send any further campaigns to those emails.

Pro Tip –  Think soft bounces are a short-term issue–you don’t need to delete these address permanently from your contact list. However, hard bounces are either invalid, fake or non-existent addresses. So, it should be removed immediately.

So, you got a clear idea of soft bounce vs hard bounce now. Let’s learn how can you reduce your bounces?

Reducing the number of bounces

I want to start this topic with a case which had happened to me when I have started Email Marketing. I have some hacked databases of email. unknowing without reading the terms and policy I have uploaded 1100000 contacts in my list. Within a certain moment, my account is blocked and I have asked to contact the support team.

It was due to spam activity. Any email marketing services will ask you “How you have grown your list?”, “How you have collected your subscriber email?” and many such questions.

So, basically the idea is to maintain hygiene and to gain subscriber by legitimate methods proposed.

Best practices to reduce the email bounces –

1.Maintaining an opener’s list – Whenever you send a campaign, you can see the no of openers. these are the people who have opened your sent mail. On every successful campaign, you can create a separate list of such openers. If a recipient is not responding from a long time you can purge those members from the list permanently.

2. Monitoring your email delivery – You can Monitor your contacts activity after sending a campaign. How they behave in clicking a link, responding back to you, opening a mail? This will help you to identify your loyal subscribers.

3. Using Double Opt-in Feature – Sending a confirmation email when users subscribe to your list. This way you can ensure that the user’s email is not only valid but that they, in fact, want to receive your email messages. So-called, genuine subscribers.

4. Deleting the suppressed emails – Remove all the emails causing hard bounces immediately. This will help you to maintain a healthy list of subscribers.

You know gaining a high deliverable rate is a challenge for you and me as well. But, it’s not impossible if you know the right rope to touch.

Why have I chosen SendinBlue Email Marketing Platform?

The reason for joining sendinblue is very simple. Sendinblue is providing a good range of email marketing services at a pocket-friendly cost. It is a good alternative to Mailchimp. You can easily send 300 Email per day free for lifetime.

And the feature I like the most is “no subscriber restriction”, You can upload your all contacst. But make sure to reach them if you have a huge contact list. Otherwise your accpount will be suspended.

How to backup your WordPress Website using ManageWP?

Website Backup is a very important process. Every blog owner should know how to perform daily or a scheduled backup of their website? Today, I am going to discuss in detail about taking daily backup of a WordPress website using ManageWP.

ManageWp is a service like GoDaddy Pro Dashboard. ManageWp is powered by GoDaddy. Both have the same feature of providing some great options for WordPress Website like backup, SEO Add-ons, Performance Monitor, Uptime Monitor, Keyword ranking monitor and many more.

Do you know, why I am writing this post? A friend of mine from Bangalore has started a WordPress website and worked hard for 6 months. He had written more than 50 blog posts. His website started performing well day by day. But, one day he was trying to install Free SSL (Which I never recommend) and in this process, an error has occurred. Unknowingly he reset his WordPress without taking a backup and lost his posts and work.

If he was using GoDaddy managed WordPress hosting which provides automatic backup or ManageWP then the case would have different.

So, always take a backup of your WordPress or other site before doing anything which you don’t know.

Let’s see the step by step process to perform backup of a WordPress website using ManageWP.

How to create WordPress website backup using ManageWP?

To create a backup using ManageWP. First, you need to create an account. Once the account setup is done then you need to link your WordPress with ManageWp. See how it goes –

#2. Using API Key – If you want to authenticate your website using API key then please install the ManageWP Worker plugin manually. The ManageWP Worker plugin needs to be installed and activated. Once done, try adding the website again. For this, you need to enter the connection key found on the website’s plugin page, in the Worker plugin description.

Activating Backup using ManageWP for WordPress

Open your ManageWP dashboard and navigate to the backup section. There are two plans which you can opt. Free and Premium. It’s totally up to you which plan you choose? But, If you ask my recommendation I will suggest you to go with Free plan if you just have started your blogging career. If you update your site frequently then the premium will be a better option for you.

Personally, I am using the Premium plan. It is cheap and reliable.
