Meta Description Length of a post-

We already have discussed that meta description is an important part when you do SEO for your website or your blog. Now you can think about what should be the length of a meta description with respect to proper SEO techniques.

If you are using Yoast SEO plugin for SEO purpose of a website, you might have seen that Yoast says, the meta description length should be 156 characters long. if you ask me the reasons for this the reason is obvious. You can try searching a keyword on Google and check out all the results.

You can clearly see that Google displays starting 156 characters of meta description part in search results. But this is not true always if you go in depth of search result you can see that sometimes Google will show you more than 156 characters and that can be up to 320 characters.

This leads to the conclusion that you have to use at least 156 characters in your meta description and it can range up to 320 characters. So, Just to avoid any confusion you have to use more than 200 characters and somehow in between 250 to 260 characters inside your meta description that will be better for your website SEO.

The primary key phrase in the title and subtitle

You have to use your primary keyword in at least one title and one subtitle. Make sure that you are using your primary keyword in either H1 and H2 tag as a title part and inside H3, H4 and H5 as a subtitle part.

Other than that you can use your keyword synonyms in the title and as well as in the meta description. if you are a novice blogger then you should focus on the ranking of long tail keywords. long tail keywords are easy to rank like rather than ranking for B2B companies, B2B lead generation, lead generation. You should try to focus on the ranking of B2B lead generation companies as a whole keyword.

If you do this then ranking will be easy for you and this will also help you to increase the website domain authority and as well as page authority. This is really very important to use the primary key phrase in the first paragraph of your blog. Have you ever thought about what will happen if you do not use the Yoast SEO plugin? like you will not get options to add SEO title, to add meta description, to add synonyms of focus keywords, to change the permalink structure.

But, if you are a good an SEO manager then would probably know Yoast SEO is just a tool which analyses your contents. If you are a good SEO expert then this analyzation can be done on your own.

Do you know why I am telling you this ? Because, Google keeps first paragraph as a meta description if you have not added meta description in your content. You always have to write your first paragraph like a short summary of your content or like a meta description of your content. You should always include two primary keywords inside the first two lines of your first paragraph.

As, you have seen in the blogging platforms Blogspot, tumbler, WordPress.com, Here we don’t have options to add a meta description. In that case, Google keeps the first paragraph as a meta description in their search result.

Usage of image inside a post –

Please keep in mind that you have to add at least one image in your content. Image is an important part of a content which provides content and important value. So, adding an image ads value to your content.

One thing that you have to keep and while adding an image and that is you have to keep your image just below are above the paragraph which is relevant to that particular image.

Alternate text of an image is mandatory

Alternate text of an image specifies a search engine about the relevancy of that image. It tells the search engines that what is this image all about? You know that image ranking an important part of Google ranking today. So, whenever you are writing a blog post or you are structuring a content then you always have to add at least one image and you have to focus on giving the alternate text of that image in a relevant way.

Many of us have a myth that in all the images of your content you have to add your primary keyword. This is not correct. Google has already specified that this would not help you in better ranking. So, always starve for adding a relevant and suitable alternate text of an image which you are adding inside your content.

The length of an SEO title will be 52 to 65 character. I will always recommend that you don’t have to use blog title less than 50 characters and more than 65 characters.

If you do this, Google will trim your title. Refer to the given below. In this image, you can clearly see that the title has been trimmed. This is basically due to the length of the title which a user has a given.

You must have to follow the length of a title while you are writing a post or while you are creating a webpage for your website.

Length of a paragraph (should be less than 150 words)

The next thing that comes into my mind about the SEO technique is the length of a paragraph – whenever you write a paragraph, consider the length of that paragraph. The suitable length of a paragraph, keeping the optimization of SEO in mind is 150 words. You don’t have to write a paragraph more than 150 words. Because if you do so, your website readability will go down.

Let’s move ahead and we will see the third important technique that is important with respect to SEO.

Slug structure – Short and most contain the keyword

The third thing that concerns primarily with the SEO is the length of the Slug or the URL or the permalink.

Always try to keep the URL short and must include your primary key phrase into your URL. This is a very important rule of on-page optimization and you must have to follow that.

Moving ahead let’s see what we have next? Now we need to focus on the meta description of a blog post.

Whenever you write a post, you have to include the primary key phrase or so-called main keyword into the front part of your meta description.

Other than that you can include the main keyword synonyms into your description. This will help Google to understand your content intent and doing that they will provide a good ranking accordingly for that primary keyword.
